2010 (January)
Happy New Year! Wow! A new year, a new decade and a much belated and needed update.
So much has happened since May of 2007 it is hard to believe that 2 and a half years have gone by without keeping up the site. So without further a due, here we go.

2009
Was a busy year. BAM kept up its schedule of touring the States, Ontario and Quebec. With highlights of a 5 weeks stay of sell out shows at the Basoche Theatre in Aylmer Quebec. They were also shows in Thune, Switzerland and Macau, China. A crazy beautiful place with way to many casinos, but pleasant enthusiastic people. Please go to media (link) to check out some pictures from these shows. Check it out. We also got invited to play on the television series La Vie est un Cirque on TV5 has well has a television appearance on Radio-Canada’s show Luc et Luc in Moncton who’s guest included that night Wilfred Leboutillier and Bia.
On the Tara Lee Combs (http://www.myspace.com/taraleecombs) side of things, we recorded an E.P. in March at Phrotos studios from our friends of Flow 14. Recorded in two days, it was a blast and keep with our philosophy of raw live takes has band that is seriously lacking in todays over processed recording methods. Tara’s vocals were has astounding has ever, and Aaron guitar works is dead on. Check it out.
We also got an invitation to play at biggest motorcycle rally on the east coast called The Wharf Rat Rally http://www.wharfratrally.ca/ in September. Being a motorcycle fanatic, this was heaven on earth for me. The show went very well and we made a very good impression on the organizers who, if all goes well, should ask us back for the 2010 edition.
I also had last minute call from an upcoming band named Ecoute C@, to fill the spot for two very big shows at la St-Jean Baptiste. The first was in front of a 25,000 + crowd opening for Marie-Chantal Toupin in St-Lin des Laurentides on the 23rd. The second for Le défilé des géants sur la Rue Sherbrooke in front of another 10,000+ crowd. It was amazing! The rest of the year was dedicated to personal adventures such has finishing up my degree in Archives at University of Montreal.

2008
Was just has crazy. To give you an idea, I believe to have racked up over 35,000 + km in that year alone in touring by good old planes, trains and plenty of automobile. I remember actually finishing a tour one day with BAM, to be dropped at a Tim Horton’s in the middle of nowhere Ontario and then being picked up only two hours later to start my 2 week tour with Tara Lee Combs across Canada and the United-States. Rock`n`roll baby!
BAM tour highlights for 2008 included shows in very beautiful but very muggy Singapore for the Flip Side Arts Festival. I have never seen so many motorcycles in a single city. I was in heaven. Then there was a 5 week tour back in Europe (Paris, Belgium, and Holland) our first 4 week stay at Theatre La Basoche in Aylmer. We also toured parts of the east coast and west coast of the States has well has our regular trip to Ontario and Quebec.
A milestone was also achieved that summer with the BAM van. The 1991 Toyota Previa A.K.A., Old Faithful, hit 400,000 km during a tour in the States. So proud of the accomplishment, we stopped in the side of a highway to take a picture, only to be greeted by a Trooper asking us “what in the h#ll are we doing?” To which we explained the situation and, a sigh of relief came upon him. Why? I guess an old gray rusted van with Quebec plates in the middle of a highway could be a little suspicious. Anyway we thank Toyota for making such a tough van. The Bam boys are not the most delicate of creatures!
Tara Lee Combs toured Canada and The States in May and June. This tour was, a back to basic of the road in a van, doing shows, sleeping in dirt cheap hotels and even more road. In short it was so much fun! Check out the poster for all the dates has well has the “best of” form the tour. We thank everyone who came out to rock out with us. We hope to see you very soon.
Check out the tour pictures here.
And last but not least, I had the opportunity to record an album for the very talented Berkley College of Music graduate in Boston, Eleanor Altman. I met Eleanor through another Berkley graduate Aaron Salomon for a recording at McGill’s recording studio. She is a great singer, a capable pianist and her songs are very melodic yet very challenging. Eleanor loves odd time signatures at very peculiar places and the challenge was to make it groove. I think we got great results if I may say so, I am personally very proud of it. Check it out (link) http://www.myspace.com/eleanorealtman
